Spanish energy and chemical company Repsol introduced new grades of low-density polyethylene (LDPE) for medical device and pharmaceutical packaging applications.
The new LDPE grades have a variety of alternatives regarding both the melt flow index (0.3 to 20 g/10 minutes) and density. These new grades will enable processors to manufacture novel containers, parts, and films using lamination, blown film extrusion, and injection molding.
The extension of the materials portfolio was made possible through the addition of the company’s LDPE plant in Sines, Portugal, to its Repsol pharma family.
