NewsSSESSMENTS: Review Of China LLDPE Film C4 Market Week 13, March 23-27

Author: SSESSMENTS

  • Far East Asia origin $700-750/ton
  • Indian Subcontinent origin $690-700/ton
  • Middle East origin $710-750/ton

Comments by market players on LLDPE Film C4 market as follows:

A global trading house stated, “We received fresh offers for LLDPE Film C4 from the leading Indian petrochemical producer at $690-700/ton. However, the minimum order for the cargoes is 1,000 tons. Meanwhile, from the Middle East, we received April shipment offers for LLDPE Film C4 at $60/ton lower than March shipment’s level, at $750/ton. All offers are on LC at sight, CIF China Main Port basis.”

A Thai PE producer informed SSESSMENTS.COM on adjusting LLDPE Film C4 offers twice a week. On March 23, the producer said, “We are offering LLDPE Film C4 cargoes at $5/ton lower than last week.” However, considering buyers’ cold response, the producer adjusted the offers again on March 24. “We decided to trim the offers for LLDPE Film C4 by $75/ton from yesterday’s level.”

“We received offers for South Korean LLDPE Film C4 at $750/ton on LC at sight, CIF China Main Port basis and decided to offer at the same level to the producer’s offers. However, some buyers submitted bids at $50/ton lower than the initial offer level, which is too low. Therefore, we decided to reject the bids,” a Chinese trader informed SSESSMENTS.COM on March 24.

“On Wednesday, March 25, we placed bids for Indonesian LLDPE Film C4 cargoes at $680/ton on LC at sight, CIF China Main Port basis, yet the producer is unwilling to sell that low,” a Chinese trader reported to SSESSMENTS.COM.

Meanwhile, on March 27, another Chinese trader reported on purchasing Indonesian cargoes at a remarkable level. “We managed to secure some volume of LLDPE Film C4 from the leading Indonesian polyolefins producer at $670/ton on LC at sight, CIF China Main Port basis.”

A Saudi producer stated, “We are offering LLDPE Film C4 at $800/ton on LC at sight, CIF China Main Port basis, but the offer is not firm. So far, some buyers submitted bids for the cargoes at $50/ton lower than the initial offer level. Since the market is quiet, we decided to accept buyers’ bids and close the deals at the bids’ level.”

“A Qatari producer has announced the April shipment offers this week. For LLDPE Film C4, the offers dropped by $25/ton compared to March shipment, stand at $800/ton on LC at sight, CIF China Main Port basis. So far, we did not hear any deals closed as the prices for LLDPE Film C4 cargoes are deemed too high,” a Chinese trader informed SSESSMENTS.COM on March 25.

“The latest offers for LLDPE Film C4 from Iranian producers are available at $50-60/ton lower from last week’s level. However, buyers are reluctant to make procurement as import PE prices continue to decrease,” a Shanghai-based trader reported to SSESSMENTS.COM.
