Comments by market players on HDPE Film market as follows:
“HDPE Film offers from a Saudi producer to Indonesia decreased by $50/ton on a monthly comparison and the allocation is reduced due to slow demand,” a global trading house reported on Monday, April 20.
“Our May shipment offers for HDPE Film to Indonesia have not been available yet as we are still checking on the allocation. The sell ideas are at $880/ton on LC at sight, CIF Indonesia main port basis,” a Thai polyolefins producer stated.
“HDPE Film offers from a Saudi producer dropped by $100/ton compared to April shipment. The offers are on CIP Haiphong and Ho Chi Minh Port,” a Vietnamese converter informed SSESSMENTS.COM.
“Our offers for HDPE Film to Indonesia remain stable compared to last week. One of our customers in the country was unwilling to unload cargoes from the warehouse at the port although all the documents for the cargoes are available. The customers reasoned that there will be restrictions in HDPE Film usage of manufacturers citing policy will be more strict,” a Thai PE producer told SSESSMENTS.COM.
“We rolled over HDPE Film offers from last week, but customers in Indonesia and Malaysia placed firm bids between $60-80/ton lower than the initial offer levels,” the marketing arm of a Middle Eastern PE producer reported.
“There are not many offers in the market this week as suppliers might decide to monitor crude oil price movement before offering. We only received HDPE Film from a Saudi producer at $740/ton on LC at sight, CIF Vietnam main port basis,” a Vietnamese trader commented.
“May shipment allocation from a Saudi producer has not sold out yet although the HDPE Film allocation was cut between 20-30% of the normal allocation and the offers dropped by $50/ton on a monthly comparison. There were some deals concluded between $10-20/ton lower than the initial offer level while some buyers submitted bids at $550/ton on LC at sight, CIF Indonesia main port basis due to long lead time, the slump in crude oil price and downtrend in PE prices,” a global trading house told SSESSMENTS.COM on April 23.
“We received HDPE Film offers from Saudi and Kuwait at $730/ton and $760/ton on LC at sight, CIF Vietnam main port basis, respectively. Considering the significant decreases in crude oil prices, our buy ideas are at $600/ton with the same payment and delivery terms for both origins, but suppliers were unwilling to accept the level as there is no such price in the market yet,” a Vietnamese converter reported.
