Comments by market players on HDPE Film market as follows:
“We received offers for HDPE Film from the Middle East at $75/ton higher than last week. Deals were concluded at $10/ton lower than the initial offer level, at $890/ton on LC at sight, CIF Indonesia main port basis,” an Indonesian converter informed SSESSMENTS.COM.
“Our offers for Middle East HDPE Film are stable compared to last week. We managed to sell at $900/ton on LC at sight, CIF Indonesia main port basis. For cargoes of U.S origin, we received offers at $920/ton with the same payment and delivery term. The shipment is from Malaysia, but we are not going to take the cargoes as the offer level is unworkable” an Indonesian trader revealed.
“Our offers for HDPE Film to Indonesia remain stable from last week at $900/ton on LC at sight, CIF Indonesia main port basis. No shutdown at our HDPE plant,” a Thai PE producer stated to SSESSMENTS.COM.
“Import HDPE Film offers to the Vietnam market are mainly stable compared to last week. We managed to conclude deals for HDPE Film of Saudi origin at $10/ton lower than the initial offer level, at $920/ton on LC at sight, CIF Vietnam main port basis. The shipment is from Singapore. HDPE Film cargoes of South Korea origin are available at $900/ton with the same payment and delivery terms, but no deals were concluded for the cargoes so far,” a Vietnamese trader reported on July 7.
“Our buy ideas for HDPE Film from the Middle East are between $810-820/ton on LC at sight, CIF Vietnam main port basis. We acknowledge that the levels are far below the current market prices,” another Vietnamese trader told SSESSMENTS.COM.
“We sold HDPE Film of Thailand origin between $930-940/ton on LC at sight, CIF Southeast Asia Main Port basis. The deal is slightly lower than last week’s levels due to big volume purchases. For small purchases, offers remain stable compared to last week, between $950-960/ton with the same payment and delivery terms. Demand for the grade in the Southeast Asia market is still good,” a trader based in Thailand informed.
“It is difficult to find HDPE Film cargoes this week since supply for the grade in the market is tight,” a Vietnamese converter commented to SSESSMENTS.COM.
“A Middle Eastern PE producer does not have HDPE Film cargoes to offer to Southeast Asia market this week. The producer price quotation for HDPE Film is $40/ton higher than two weeks ago,” market sources reported.
“We purchased US HDPE Film cargoes at $890/ton on TT, EXW Port Klang basis on Monday (July 6). The allocation is limited,” a Malaysian converter informed SSESSMENTS.COM.
