Comments by market players on HDPE Film market as follows:
“There are no offers available for HDPE Film from Qatar this week because the allocation was sold out last week,” an Indonesian trader reported to SSESSMENTS.COM.
“Our HDPE Film offers for August shipment to Indonesia increased by $70/ton compared to last month, now available at $990/ton on LC at sight, CIF Indonesia main port basis,” a Thai polyolefins producer revealed.
“Our offers across all grades remain stable compared to last week. The offers are already for mid-August shipment, except for HDPE Film. Due to the previous maintenance shutdown, the supply for the grade is tight and we have backlogs to clear,” a Thai PE producer stated to SSESSMENTS.COM.
“We offer HDPE Film cargoes of Philippines origin between $950-970/ton, depending on the quantity. Customers placed bids at $40/ton below the low end of the offer range and the bids were rejected since the lowest acceptable deal level was $945/ton. From a Thai producer, we received offers for the grade at $1,000/ton or $80/ton lower than last week. All on LC at sight, CIF Vietnam main port basis. We have no idea why the Thai producer offers at such a high level,” a Vietnamese trader informed.
“Import HDPE Film offers are high. Offers from the leading Saudi polyolefins producer increased by $20/ton compared to last week, now at $950/ton. August shipment HDPE Film offers from an Indian producer remain stable at last week’s level, at $945/ton. As for US origin, offers stand at $930/ton and shipment is from the U.S. All on LC at sight, CIF Vietnam main port basis,” another Vietnamese trader commented to SSESSMENTS.COM.
“Our offers for HDPE Film of Thailand origin to Indonesia are unchanged compared to last week,” a global trading house revealed.
“Offers above $900/ton-level for HDPE Film to the Southeast Asia market are unworkable as buyers’ buy idea range between $870-900/ton on LC at sight, CIF main port basis for non-dutiable cargoes,” a trader based in Thailand opined to SSESSMENTS.COM.
“August shipment HDPE Film offers from Kuwait increased between $90-100/ton on a monthly comparison, available at $970/ton on LC at sight, CIF Thailand main port basis,” a Thai trader informed.
“Southeast Asian buyers show stiff resistance on our offers for HDPE Film, especially in Vietnam. However, we managed to sell some quantity at initial offer level to the Philippines,” a Malaysian polyolefins producer stated to SSESSMENTS.COM.
