Comments by market players on LLDPE Film C4 market as follows:
“Initially, we managed to conclude a deal for US LLDPE Film C4 at $760/ton on LC at sight, CIF Southeast Asia Main Port basis on April 17. However, a lot of our customers were cancelling the orders following the crude oil prices crashed on Monday. Customers were expecting a hefty reduction from the original price while the offers for US LLDPE Film C4 only went down by $30/ton compared to April 17-level. Despite the price cut, customers did not re-order the cargoes and preferred the sidelines positions as end-users are cancelling the finished products orders as well,” a Singapore-based trader reported to SSESSMENTS.COM.
“We received Saudi LLDPE Film C4 offers at $720-730/ton on LC at sight, CIF Vietnam Main Port basis, which is around $110-120/ton lower compared to last month. At the moment, demand from our company’s end remains sluggish and we only made procurement on a hand-to-mouth basis for PE. We opined that the market sentiment will not improve as long as the Coronavirus pandemic is still looming over the market,” a Vietnamese trader commented.
“For LLDPE Film C4, the offers were adjusted higher by $10/ton on a weekly comparison considering better demand in the previous week in Southeast Asia market including Indonesia and Vietnam. Moreover, we already announced the offers before the crude oil prices crashed into negative territory,” a Thai PE producer reported on April 21.
“We decided to keep the offers for LLDPE Film C4 stable on a weekly comparison, the offers are available at $750/ton on LC at sight, CIF Main Port basis. However, the offers were unworkable as buyers were unwilling to take high prices at the moment. Hence, we were asking the customers’ buy ideas and asking them to submit bids. Most customers in Malaysia, Indonesia, and Singapore were submitting bids at $650-670/ton, which is around $80-100/ton lower from the initial offer level,” a marketing arm of a Middle Eastern PE producer informed SSESSMENTS.COM.
“We received Saudi LLDPE Film C4 offers at $730/ton on LC at sight, CIF Malaysia Main Port basis, which is $70/ton lower from last month. We submitted bids at $30/ton lower from the initial offer level and no response yet from the producer,” a Malaysian converter commented on April 20.
