- Middle East origin $740-820/ton
- Southeast Asia origin $800/ton
Comments by market players on LLDPE Film C4 as follows:
A local converter in Malaysia commented, “This week, we received June shipment offers for LLDPE Film C4 from a Saudi producer at $20/ton higher compared to May shipment. We managed to conclude deals at $10/ton lower than the initial offers at $740/ton on LC at sight, CIF Malaysia Main Port basis.”
“We purchased Middle Eastern LLDPE Film C4 at $30/ton higher than last month’s deals level at $800/ton on LC at sight, CIF Thailand Main Port basis,” a Thai trader informed SSESSMENTS.COM.
“Currently, most suppliers are quoting firm prices for June shipment following the strong crude oil and feedstock prices. Offers for LLDPE Film C4 from the leading Saudi polyolefins producer increased by $40/ton compared to May shipment. However, considering 3% customs duty, the final prices are too high and unworkable. Sales on our side have yet back to normal as the market remains slow due to the lockdown. Our factories are still running below 50% from normal rates,” a converter in the Philippines told SSESSMENTS.COM.
Some Vietnamese traders informed, “Offers for LLDPE Film C4 of Saudi origin are available at $800/ton on LC at sight, CIF Haiphong Port. We tried to bid at $50/ton lower than the initial offers for Saudi LLDPE Film C4 at $750/ton on LC at sight, CIF Haiphong Port. However, the producer rejected the bid as the allocation is limited. We only purchased on a hand-to-mouth basis and have sold out all the allocations since last week. As such, we do not have any offers for LLDPE Film C4 of Saudi origin this week.”
A local converter in Vietnam voiced out to SSESSMENTS.COM on PE market outlook, “We purchased LLDPE Film C4 of South Korea origin at the same level to the initial offers at $780/ton on LC at sight, CIF Ho Chi Minh Port. This week, suppliers maintain firm offers as buying sentiment has improved. However, we think, by next week, once buyers have sufficient stock on hand, they would not continue to make procurements, and deals would be concluded at below the initial offer level.”
“Offers for LLDPE Film C4 from the leading Saudi polyolefins producer increased by $80/ton on a weekly comparison. However, we are not interested in taking the cargoes as the offers are too high. We also received offers for LLDPE Film C4 from another Saudi producer at $800/ton on LC at sight, CIF Vietnam Main Port basis, but when we tried to submit inquiries, the producer has sold out all allocation. While for US origin, no offers for this week,” a Vietnamese converter and trader revealed to SSESSMENTS.COM.
“This week offers for Singaporean LLDPE Film C4 are available at $800/ton on LC at sight, CIF Vietnam Main Port basis. Currently, PE market activity in Vietnam is already back to normal as the COVID-19 issue has subsided. Buyers are more confident to submit inquiries. However, the overall demand is still not strong yet,” a global trading house reported.
