Comments by market players on LLDPE Film C4 as follows:
“On a weekly comparison, we noted that offers for import LLDPE Film C4 from a Middle Eastern producer to Philippines, Indonesia, and Malaysia market are kept stable, supported by the tight supply and the producer is not in a rush to move out cargoes as well. To the Philippines market, deals were concluded at the initial offer level and to some customers, a discount of $10/ton was applied. While in Indonesia and Malaysia, the market is still quiet after the Eid Al-Fitr holiday, hence, there were no deals concluded. If there are orders submitted within the week commencing June 1, it will be included in July shipment, which is still around three weeks ahead. As such, the producer is not in a rush to sell cargoes due to the possibility for price changes in the upcoming weeks,” market sources reported to SSESSMENTS.COM.
“We managed to sell all of our allocations for import LLDPE Film C4 cargoes of Saudi origin to the Indonesia market. For the deals, it was concluded at $20/ton lower from the initial offer level,” a global trading house revealed.
“We received offers for import LLDPE Film C4 from the leading Saudi polyolefins producer at $860/ton, with shipment from Malaysia/Singapore. While from another Middle Eastern producer, the offers for import LLDPE Film C4 to Vietnam market stand at $820/ton. All offers are on LC at sight, CIF Vietnam Main Port basis. Considering the quality, we decided to make procurement for LLDPE Film C4 cargoes from the leading Saudi producer with deals concluded at $20/ton lower from the initial offer level. In our opinion, the current uptrend in PE prices is only supported by the limited allocation while demand is still weak due to the slow digestion for finished products,” a Vietnamese converter commented.
“There are some US LLDPE Film C4 cargoes that will arrive in Malaysia port within this month, and the offers are at $780/ton, which is $30/ton higher from a fortnight ago. We have not decided on procurement activity yet as the producer has not informed us regarding the quantity, hence, we prefer to wait at the moment. However, our buy idea for these cargoes is around $10/ton lower from the initial offer level. From another supplier, we received US LLDPE Film C4 offers in the trader's bag at $750/ton, and done deals were achieved at the initial offer level. All offers on LC at sight, CIF Malaysia Main Port basis. We opined that the current uptrend is merely supported by the firm feedstock prices while demand remains slow as the sales for finished products have yet to pick up,” a Malaysian converter informed SSESSMENTS.COM.
