Shintech is planning maintenance at its PVC plant in Freeport, Texas, market sources informed SSESSMENTS.COM. The 1.4 million tons/year PVC unit will be under maintenance for a month starting from April. However, the exact date for the turnaround remains undisclosed.
Occidental Petroleum’s subsidiary OxyChem also plans to perform a turnaround at its PVC plant in Pasadena, Texas. The turnaround at OxyChem’s 1 million tons/year PVC unit will last for seven days starting from April.
Meanwhile, a 798,000 tons/year PVC plant and a 753,000 tons/year vinyl chloride monomer unit at Formosa Plastics’ Point Comfort complex remain under maintenance this week, market sources told SSESSMENTS.COM. The maintenance was initially planned to be completed by the end of February.
