A source with knowledge of the matter informed SSESSMENTS.COM that Shintech, a subsidiary of Shin Etsu Chemical Co., has shut one of its PVC trains at Freeport complex in Texas. According to the source, the plant has been shut since last Wednesday, 25 March for maintenance work. The PVC plant with a capacity of 1.4 million tons/year is expected to remain off-line through most of April.
