A Thai PE producer revealed to SSESSMENTS.COM regarding the price changes to the Indonesia market, which is initiated to respond to market dynamics. This week, the producer informed SSESSMENTS.COM that import offers moved higher between $5-20/ton for PE cargoes across all grades. Offers for HDPE Film up by $20/ton, LLDPE Film C4 increased by $5-15/ton, LDPE Film up by $10/ton, while mLLDPE C6 moved up between $10-20/ton. All price changes on a weekly comparison. As revealed, the upward adjustment was driven by the increases in crude oil and ethylene prices. Additionally, as the Indonesian government plans to ease lockdown, buyers showed a positive response towards the latest offers with some deals concluded for HDPE Film and LLDPE Film C4 at the initial levels. The producer then stated that the company is trying to balance demand and supply while giving competitive offers to regular customers at the same time.
For PE offers in the local currency, the producer’s offers are at IDR12,000,000/ton (805/ton) for localized HDPE grades, except for HDPE Film. For localized HDPE Film, the producer does not have allocations. While offers for localized LDPE Film and LLDPE Film C4 stand at IDR15,500,000/ton ($1040/ton) and IDR12,000,000/ton ($805/ton) respectively. All offers are on cash, FD Indonesia basis and excluding 10% VAT.
