On June 29, Thai PVC producers announced July delivery offers with amendments spotted to keep up with the international market, SSESSMENTS.COM noted. According to the information provided by a Thai converter, July delivery offers from two local producers surfaced with an increase of THB2,000/ton ($64/ton) compared to June, following the international market trend. To lure buyers, both producers are still willing to give discounts up to THB1,000/ton ($32/ton) depending on the volume of purchases. The converter personally is still contemplating on making procurement considering sluggish sales for end-products.
Speaking of end-products, the current healthy demand is only coming from the pipe and medical-related sector. Particularly for PVC pipe, the demand has yet to be affected by the weather, even when the rain has dampened some areas in Thailand. In the production sector, both Thai PVC producers reportedly will conduct maintenance shutdowns in the upcoming months, however, no further detail was disclosed regarding the schedule so far. Despite the maintenance plans, the converter commented that the producers will still have enough allocation for the domestic market as they have prepared it beforehand. Hence, there will be no supply issue, as told to SSESSMENTS.COM.
