A source from a Thai PE producer reported to SSESSMENTS.COM on announcing corrections on export offers to the China market. This week, offers for certain grades from the producer surfaced with downward corrections. For HDPE Film, the company decided to reduce offers by $20/ton on the low-end of the price range, currently available between $980-1,030/ton on LC at sight, CIF China main port basis. Similarly to HDPE Film, offers for HDPE Yarn and LLDPE Film C4 from the producer decreased by $10/ton and $20/ton, respectively. Meanwhile, no price comparison for LDPE grades as previously the producer did not offer these grades to the country. All changes compared to last week’s levels and all offers for late August to early September shipment.
The source added to SSESSMENTS.COM that the quiet China market last week has pushed the producer to make a step to trim export offers to the country, as no supporting factors to increase the prices at the moment. So far, the response towards the current offers is not too positive.
