A Thailand-based trader shared with SSESSMENTS.COM that the current PE supply condition in Thailand domestic market supports firm prices from a Thai producer. The trader revealed that the producer’s offers for both HDPE Film and LLDPE Film C4 stand at THB28,500/ton ($923/ton), while LDPE Film at THB33,000/ton ($1,064/ton). Compared to last week, the current offers from the local producer is THB500/ton ($15/ton) higher for all PE grades. All offers are on cash, FD Thailand basis and excluding 7% VAT. The trader received a statement from the producer that their supply is currently tight due to the ongoing and upcoming planned maintenance at its PE plants. From the trader’s end, the company is offering the producer’s PE cargoes at THB1,000/ton ($30/ton) higher than the producer’s price list.
The trader then commented that the current local PE offers might not get a positive response as customers had purchased enough cargoes last week. Pricing outlook expressed by the trader to SSESSMENTS.COM indicates that demand will not improve since the downstream market is still weak with the possibility of falling prices can occur in June.
