A Vietnamese converter shared with SSESSMENTS.COM on the triple-digit change on the leading Saudi polyolefins producer’s HDPE cargoes. According to the converter, the producer is offering HDPE Film cargoes to the Vietnam market at $730/ton on LC at sight, CIF Vietnam Main Port basis, or $100/ton lower than offer level available in the previous week. The converter managed to purchase some volume at $20/ton lower than the initial offer level. Further added, cargoes are available and will be shipped from Malaysia or Singapore ports. For Thailand origin cargoes, the latest offer is available at $820/ton with the same payment and delivery term. However, the trader is reluctant to take the cargoes as the offer level is deemed too high considering the current market situation.
“We will consider purchasing in bulk if there are any Middle Eastern producers who are willing to sell HDPE Film at $650/ton-level. We believe that the price will break below $700/ton-level in the days to come,” the converter said.
