A producer source informed SSESSMENTS.COM the updates on South Korea Lotte Chemical’s PP units. Previously, Lotte Chemical had shut its PP units located in Daesan complex following an explosion occurred on March 4, 2020. As reported on April 23, one of the company’s PP units has resumed production and is currently running normally. Meanwhile, another PP unit is expected to resume production in May, provided that the producer still could purchase propylene from other suppliers. Otherwise, the PP unit might be restarted in October, yet is still under consideration.
As SSESSMENTS.COM noted, Lotte Chemical operates two PP units at its Daesan complex in Seosan, South Korea. The two PP units have a production capacity of 250,000 tons/year each.
