US PVC offers received favorable response in China and Southeast Asia market, sources told SSESSMENTS.COM. Market sources based in Vietnam shared with SSESSMENTS.COM that ethylene-based PVC offers from US producer stand at $785-800/ton for this week. One of the traders commented that this offer is quite competitive compared to offers from leading Taiwanese PVC producer, but has not yet concluded deals in their side because buyers prefer to source cargoes from Southeast Asia with similar prices plus custom duty. At the same time, a converter informed on purchasing US PVC cargoes at $750/ton or $30/ton lower than the initial offer level. All offers on LC at sight, CIF Vietnam Main Port basis.
A trading house based in Taiwan also revealed to SSESSMENTS.COM that deals were achieved for US PVC cargoes at $750/ton in Vietnam and China market last week, with shipments taking place in July. The trader then pointed out that deals in China for USA products began to be affected by sentiment over the planned implementation of anti-dumping duty (ADD) which could occur soon. Still, they are calm because their customers are dominated by re-exporters who are not affected by this policy.
