German petrochemical company Vestolit has revised its maintenance schedule at its PVC site in Marl, Germany due to the coronavirus pandemic, market sources told SSESSMENTS.COM. The two-week maintenance was initially scheduled for April, but the outbreak has caused uncertainties and lower PVC demand. Hence, Vestolit decided to move the schedule forward to the end of March.
Vestolit’s integrated PVC facility in Marl can produce up to 265,000 tons/year of chlorine, 294,000 tons/year of caustic soda, 400,000 tons/year of VCM, 630,000 tons/year of EDC, and 400,000 tons/year of PVC. During the maintenance, production levels will be lower at about 70%, the sources added.
