A Vietnamese converter contacted by SSESSMENTS.COM’s team is nonchalant about the three digits adjustment on import PE offers. The converter revealed that due to limited supply on the producers’ end, offers for import HDPE Film of US origin, as well as HDPE Film and LLDPE Film C4 of Kuwait origin for August shipment increased by $100/ton as compared to July shipment offers. In response to the notable price increase the converter commented, “We do not really care about the unreasonably high offers, especially for HDPE Film and LLDPE Film C4 at and above $1,000/ton-level. We notice that this week, buying sentiment is weaker than last week. As such, offers at and above $1,000/ton-level will gain a cold response from buyers.”
In contrast with Kuwait and US cargoes, a Thai PE producer adjusted down the offers for HDPE Film between $10-20/ton from last week’s level. While for LLDPE Film C4, the producer does not have offers as for this week due to no allocation, as stated to SSESSMENTS.COM.
