A Vietnamese converter contacted by SSESSMENTS.COM stated that offers for import PP are scarce at the moment, especially from Middle Eastern producers. For Thai cargoes, offers for PP Homo Raffia are available between $800-820/ton on LC at sight, CIF Vietnam main port basis, higher between $50-70/ton from last week’s level. To maintain a long-term relationship with the producer, the converter decided to purchase at the initial offer level but only for small volume. Meanwhile, offers for Indian PP Homo Raffia cargoes via a trader at $800/ton with the same payment and shipment term deemed unworkable by the converter. For Chinese PP cargoes, the converter did not receive offers from one of the leading Chinese polyolefins producers this week. Since the local market was on an uptrend, the producer prefers to sell to the domestic market.
