A Vietnamese trader informed SSESSMENTS.COM on adjusting localized PE offers of various origins in order to keep up with the international market trend. This week, the trader received offers for LDPE Film of Thailand and Malaysia origin, which the prices are considered high, especially for Thailand cargoes. Considering the high prices in the international market, the trader decided to raise their offers for localized cargoes as well. For LDPE Film cargoes, the localized offers of Malaysia origin were adjusted up by VND500,000/ton ($21/ton) from last week’s level. While for LLDPE Film C4 cargoes, the localized offers went up by VND500,000/ton ($21/ton) for US origin on a weekly comparison and by VND1,000,000/ton ($42/ton) for Saudi origin on a monthly comparison.
Speaking of the demand, sales for their end-products remain slow this week. The number of transactions remains limited despite the firmer ethylene prices. Likewise, demand from the export market is also weak and showed no improvement week over week, SSESSMENTS.COM was told.
