A Malaysian converter reported to SSESSMENTS.COM that whopping adjustments were applied on offers for metallocene of US origin to the country. According to the converter, compared to the last offers received in early May, the current offers are $80/ton higher. The converter concluded deals at the initial offer level and the cargoes are already at Port Klang.
For LLDPE Film C4, the converter told SSESSMENTS.COM that offers received from a US producer were at $780/ton on LC at sight, CIF Malaysia main port basis. The cargoes will arrive in Malaysia this month. On a biweekly comparison, the offers increased by $30/ton. However, the converter has not decided whether to purchase the cargoes or not due to the lack of information about the quantity offered by the producer. Instead, the trader purchased US LLDPE Film C4 in trader's bags at $750/ton with the same payment and delivery term. The converter also commented that the current uptrend in PE prices is only supported by firmer monomer prices while demand is still weak. Even so, the converter believes that PE prices will remain firm during June.
