Market sources informed SSESSMENTS.COM that Lotte Chemical Pakistan Limited had resumed its Purified Terephthalic Acid (PTA) plant operations. The producer idled the 500,000 tons/year unit on April 27 due to weak demand amid the coronavirus-related shutdown. A local media reported that the company’s Q2 earnings are expected to remain depressed due to the long duration of the shutdown (50 days).
