Market sources informed SSESSMENTS.COM that SABIC had halted operation at its Olefins 6 cracking plant in Teesside, in North East England. The 865,000 tons/year cracker was shut due to technical problems on its cooling tower. The repair is expected to take up to 14 days starting from June 17. SABIC noted that the shutdown would result in peak flaring on Wednesday, saying that it would minimize the duration and intensity of the flaring.
