On Monday, the US Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) said that 40% of the US Gulf of Mexico crude and gas output was still shut two weeks after Hurricane Ida.
Roughly 794,000 bpd of crude and 1.15 bcfd of gas were still offline yesterday, while 47 production platforms were still evacuated.
Looking forward, another storm that could become a hurricane, Nicholas, was heading to Texas on Monday. The Gulf oil facilities are once again threatened by heavy rainfall and floods.
