Austria’s Alpla Group is in the midst of building a recycling high-density polyethylene (HDPE) facility in Toluca, Mexico.
The plant will have a production capacity of 15,000 mt of recycled-content HDPE made from post-consumer materials with a cost of EUR15 million (USD17.8 million) and the plant will operate as a 100% subsidiary of Alpla.
The recycled-content HDPE produced in Toluca will be used for non-food applications. The factory with 65 employees would target primarily Mexico, neighboring countries in Central America, and the US.
