AlwaysFree: Ambition Set By France’s Arkema To Become Specialty Materials Leader By 2024

Author: SSESSMENTS

An ambition announced by Arkema to become a world leader in specialty materials realigned around three coherent businesses (adhesive solutions, advanced materials, and coating solutions) with attractive growth prospects. The company unveiled this at a strategy update meeting on 2 April.

An update also provided by the company at this event on the management and the consequences of the unprecedented health crisis in the context of coronavirus pandemic.

With a resilient and focused portfolio, Arkema aims to become a pure specialty materials player by 2024. Arkema targets sales generation of $10.87 to $11.96 billion. Compared to 15.8 percent today for the specialty materials business, an EBITDA margin of around 17 percent also targeted by the company.

With a return on capital employed (ROCE) in excess of 10 percent and a net debt to EBITDA ratio of less than 2 by 2024, Arkema will also maintain strict financial discipline. Compared to the previous period (2015-2019), the company's cash generation over the next five years is expected to grow further.
