AlwaysFree: An Unplanned Shutdown Of Neste Rotterdam Refinery Caused By A Fire

According to the company’s website press release on December 23, 2022, the Neste Rotterdam refinery has been shut down due to a fire in a refinery unit on 22 December 2022. The fire did not cause injuries, and it has been extinguished. 

The company is investigating the incident and repair work has started. At this stage, the company estimate the refinery start-up to take place in the first half of January 2023. 

The company is mitigating the possible impact on our customers. 

The incident has no effect on the ongoing Rotterdam refinery expansion project.
