Abdulaziz Al Gudaimi, a senior vice president at Saudi Arabia’s state-owned Saudi Aramco, stated that the company’s acquisition of Saudi Basic Industries Corp. (SABIC) would accelerate its downstream strategy.
He added that the acquisition could transform Aramco into a global petrochemical actor. Al Gudaimi also estimated the petrochemical sector to post the fastest growth in demand for oil by 2040.
