Borealis, Austria’s provider of advanced and circular polyolefin solutions, is working together with Greiner Packaging to produce Emmi CAFFÈ LATTE drinking cups using chemically recycled polypropylene (PP) in Europe.
Emmi, Switzerland’s largest milk processor, has started to incorporate chemically recycled PP into its packaging. Greiner will produce the cups while Borealis provided the chemically recycled material.
Emmi will use at least 100 tpa of plastic based on the recycled material starting in September 2021. The materials will consist entirely and solely of International Sustainability & Carbon Certification (ISCC) material, on a mass balance basis.
