The latest easing of Britain's coronavirus lockdown will be unveiled by Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Tuesday. The lockdown to stop the spread of COVID-19 has hammered Britain's economy. Many businesses, particularly in the hospitality and leisure sectors, have remained closed although non-essential retailers were allowed to reopen last Monday.
Under the government's roadmap out of the lockdown, parliament would be told by the prime minister on Tuesday which sectors would be allowed to reopen on July 4, Johnson's office said. Each sector would be provided with detailed guidance so businesses were "Covid secure".
A change to the social distancing guidelines would be announced also by Johnson so providing people took additional measures such as wearing a mask, they would only need to remain one metre apart.
