Cameron LNG on August 10 said that its production capacity had increased by 50% to 12 million tons/year or about 1.7 Bcfd after its third and final train entered commercial service. The final unit was completed earlier this year and began trial runs in April. The terminal’s first train began operational service in August 2019 followed by the second train in February this year.
Cameron LNG is owned by Total, Sempra LNG, Japan’s Mitsui, and Japan LNG Investment LLC, a joint venture of NYK Line and Mitsubishi Corporation. Cameron LNG output is split among Mitsubishi, Mitsui, and Total. About 4 million tons/year of it is for export to Japan, which is equal to the country’s overall LNG imports.
