Indonesia’s PT Chandra Asri Petrochemical has deployed a new Enclosed Ground Flare (EGF) technology at its complex in Cilegon, Banten, Indonesia. The new technology uses a closed combustion method to burn 220 tons/hour of hydrocarbons without causing heat, smoke, and noise. The new technology burns hydrocarbons completely, preventing them from being released into the air. It also reduces noise while eliminating flame and smoke, creating a more comfortable condition for nearby communities. Inti Karya Persada Teknik and Toyo Engineering Corporation were the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractors for the $14-million EGF project that began construction in 2018.
