Switzerland’s Clariant announced the construction of the Catofin catalyst for propane dehydrogenation (PDH) production site in the Dushan Port Economic Development Zone in Jiaxing, Zhejiang, China.
The construction is scheduled for the third quarter of 2020 and the full production capacity is to be hit by 2022. The facility would be Clariant Catalysts’ third production plant in China and the most digitized facility to date, incorporating sophisticated automation systems throughout the production process.
The first phase of the new plant will focus on meeting China’s PDH requirements through Catofin production. Later on, Clariant may expand manufacturing capabilities at the site to offer further catalyst technologies relevant to China’s chemical industry.
