AlwaysFree: Colonial Pipeline’s Main Lines Resume Activities After Hurricane’s Landfall

On Thursday, Colonial Pipeline said that its two main lines have resumed operations after Hurricane Laura made landfall in Louisiana while the company is assessing facilities and pipelines.

Colonial said that it would need 24-48 hours to assess changes to schedules in regards to the storm’s impact and recovery efforts. The company is also communicating with refiners and suppliers to ensure supply, and with employees affected by the storm.

Previously on Wednesday, Colonial said that it would evacuate impacted facilities to comply with mandatory evacuation orders in Texas and Louisiana.

Hurricane Laura made landfall at roughly 1 AM local time Thursday (06.00 GMT) as a category 4 storm with 150 mph (240 kph) in Cameron, Louisiana. In the morning, it had weakened to a category 1 storm and was expected to become a tropical storm later in the day.
