On Wednesday, the executive director of the International Energy Agency (IEA) Fatih Birol said that countries must cooperate to achieve net-zero emissions targets by 2050.
He added that governments have to also give clear statements to investors to expand clean energy in emerging economies. The world economies must have an orderly transition of the global energy system to be able to meet the timeline.
Previously on Tuesday, the IEA commented to discourage investors in investing in new oil, gas, and coal supply projects to make the net-zero emissions targets possible.
