State-owned Emirates National Oil Co. (ENOC) of Dubai is likely to soon commission the Jebel Ali condensate refinery expansion project operated by its subsidiary NOC Processing Co. LLC. The expansion project worth more than $1 billion, includes installation of new units and infrastructure to boost the refinery’s capacity from 140,000 barrels per stream day (bpsd) to 10,000 bpsd.
After the expansion, Jebel Ali refinery can produce Euro 5-quality gasoline, jet fuel, and diesel. TechnipFMC PLC, the service provider for the project, said all new units had completed final testing. TechnipFMC PLC provided EPC services for the refinery’s new LPG-naphtha hydrotreater, 70,000-bpsd condensate processing train, kerosine hydrotreater, diesel hydrotreater, and an isomerization unit. The service provider, however, did not disclose the exact commissioning timeframe.
The expansion project is part of ENOC’s commitment to meet fuel demand from both domestic and export markets. ENOC plans to continue investing in critical projects to meet UAE’s energy demand which increases by around 9% annually.
