According to Zawya article published on December 29, 2022, Egypt’s natural gas export revenue surged by 171% year-on-year (YoY) to around $8.4 billion in 2022 from around $3.5 billion in 2021, according to an official statement on December 28th.
In 2022, Egypt exported 8 million tons (MT) of natural gas, up from around 7 MT last year.
Egypt’s output of petroleum products amounted to around 79.5 MT in 2022, including around 50.6 MT of natural gas, 27.8 MT of crude oil and condensates, and 1.1 MT of liquefied petroleum gas.
It is worth noting that Egypt achieved 53 new oil and gas discoveries in 2022.
