AlwaysFree: Enbridge Curtails Oil-Sands Pipeline Rationing Before Line 3 Start

Author: SSESSMENTS

Canadian pipeline operator Enbridge Inc curtailed the rationing on its oil-sands pipeline from 55% in September to 33% in October as it prepared to start up its new Line 3 replacement pipeline, which will expand export capacity to the US. Enbridge said the new Line 3 would start operations in the fourth quarter of 2021. The company is offering 620,000 bpd of capacity in the new pipeline in October, compared to 390,000 bpd available in the old Line 3. The new Line 3 is expected to alleviate a shortage of export capacities for Canadian oil sands producers.
