Italian energy major Eni said that the majority of its oil refineries in Italy have slowed production to around 60% of the nameplate capacities on account of the coronavirus emergency in the country.
Sannazzaro, Eni’s biggest refinery located in northern Italy, is running at around 50% of capacity, as aside from the virus emergency, the plant also is affected by planned maintenance projects.
The Taranto plant in the south of the country has completed maintenance work and the units involved are being turned on gradually.
Eni said that it is monitoring the developments in the market to make required adjustments to supply.
