Eni and Korea Gas Corp last week signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to strengthen both companies’ cooperation in the energy sector, the Italian oil company said. The MoU includes a call to identify specific opportunities to collaborate in areas, including LNG, downstream, infrastructure, circular economy, low carbon energy projects, and exploration and production (E&P).
Eni CEO Claudio Descalzi said the cooperation is in line with the company’s vision in sustainable growth and transition towards low-carbon energy. Both companies have worked together in the E&P operations in Southeast Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and the Mediterranean, including Iraq’s Zubair projects and the Area 4 project in Mozambique.
