The joint venture chemical complex developed by ExxonMobil and SABIC near Corpus Christi, Texas, is 80% complete, said Jack Williams, a senior VP at ExxonMobil. According to Williams, the complex will start up in the last quarter of 2021. The site will be able to produce up to 1.8 million tons/year of ethylene, 1.3 million tons/year of LLDPE, 1.1 million tons/year of ethylene glycol, 920,000 tons/year of ethylene oxide, 100,000 tons/year of diethylene glycol, and 10,000 tons/year of triethylene glycol.
