Author: SSESSMENTS

A fire broke out at HIP Petrohemija’s processing plant in Pancevo, Serbia, at around 10:16 PM on September 3. The fire was brought under control by the company’s response team, backed by personnel from the Pancevo Oil Refinery and the Pancevo Fire Brigade. HIP Petrohemija said one employee was slightly injured during the evacuation from the facility. The company also noted that the cause of the blaze is currently under investigation.

As a result of the fire, HIP Petrohemija stopped all production at the site and sent force majeure notifications to its customers. The site can produce up to 200,000 tons/year of ethylene, 85,000 tons/year of propylene, 90,000 tons/year of high-density polyethylene (HDPE), and 65,000 tons/year of low-density polyethylene (LDPE).
