According to Interfax, Russian news agency’s article published on November 17, 2022, Construction of the first four solid municipal waste management complexes under concession agreements will begin this year in Dagestan and Arkhangelsk Region, Deputy Prime Minister Viktoria Abramchenko said on Thursday.
"The government will already launch the first concessions for construction of solid municipal waste facilities this year. The pilot regions will be Dagestan and Arkhangelsk Region. The regions successfully passed the selection of applications for financing under the Environment national project. We plan to direct 6.5 billion rubles to Dagestan and 1.2 billion rubles to Arkhangelsk Region in 2022-2024," Abramchenko was quoted as saying by her press service.
Under the agreements, the complexes will be built in Makhachkala, Derbent, Khasavyurt and the Kotlas district of Arkhangelsk Region, and they are scheduled for completion at the end of 2024.
The construction of three complexes in Dagestan should enable the region to achieve 100% sorting of waste on its territory ahead of schedule, before the deadline of 2030 set by the Russian president, Abramchenko said.
