Five investment project applications worth about US$1.34 billion (41.8 billion baht) have been approved by Thailand to strengthen the agricultural sector and agro-industry, the state investment agency said.
Of the pledges, six billion baht will be spent by B Grimm Power on a natural gas-fired power plant while 24.1 billion baht will be invested by Thai Oil to produce 250 megawatts of electricity using oil waste, the Board of Investment (BOI) said in a statement.
To produce about 30,000 electric battery-powered vehicles a year, 5.5 billion baht will be invested by Summitr Group, mainly for the domestic market. About 2.47 billion baht will be invested by Envico to produce recycled plastic pellets while about 3.75 billion baht will be spent by Bangkok Arena to build a convention hall.
To promote the use of innovation and technology, the Board of Investment (BOI) has also adjusted investment promotion terms and benefits for the agricultural industry.
