AlwaysFree: Fluor-Led JV Began Process Equipment at Kuwait’s Al Zour Refinery

Author: SSESSMENTS

FDH JV, a joint venture led by Fluor Corp. with Daewoo Engineering & Construction and Hyundai Heavy Industries, has started up two boilers in the new Al Zour Refinery at the Kuwait Integrated Petrochemicals Industrial Company’s (KIPIC) Package 2 and 3 Project in Kuwait.

The JV has also started generating steam in the new refinery.

FDH JV is providing services of two engineering, procurement, fabrication, and construction packages for key process support units, utilities, and infrastructure for the mega-refinery.

Previously, some enabling facilities were already completed and handed over, such as the central control room building and other associated buildings, fire water systems, communication systems, and other refinery infrastructure.

Upon completion, the grassroots Al Zour complex would be one of the world’s biggest refineries. It would have a 615,000 bpd processing capacity. The facility is expected to be important for Kuwait’s economy as it would bring energy self-sufficiency to the country.
