According to TASS, Russia's state-owned news agency article published on November 1, 2022, the price of gas in Europe fell by more than one third in October 2022 compared with the previous month to around $1,246 per 1,000 cubic meters, according to data provided by London’s ICE on November and December futures contracts and TASS calculations. Abnormally warm weather in the region, which postpones the start of the heating season, has become one of the main factors of the decrease.
The price of gas futures reached around $1,884 per 1,000 cubic meters by the end of trading on September 30, whereas on October 31 trading ended with the price of $1,246, a 34% decrease month-on-month.
