According to the company’s website news release on September 27, 2022, the Gazprom Board of Directors took note of the information about the progress of the Company's efforts for gas infrastructure development and additional gas grid expansion in Russian regions.
Particular attention was paid to, inter alia, the ongoing work on additional gas grid expansion in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, namely the efforts for bringing pipeline gas to the boundaries of households at no cost to the population within localities already covered by the gas grid.
By today, citizens have signed a total of 591,600 contracts for additional gas grid expansion with the Single operator of gas infrastructure expansion (SO, Gazprom Gazifikatsiya) and regional gas infrastructure expansion operators, and 49 per cent of these contracts have been executed, i.e. gas pipelines have been laid up to the boundaries of citizens' land plots.
It was noted that the work on additional gas grid expansion in the areas falling under the responsibility of the SO is proceeding actively. At present, 11,700 specialists and over 8,000 units of heavy machinery and equipment are employed in the construction of gas networks. In the period from September 1 to 22, gas distribution entities (GDEs) of Gazprom fulfilled some 29,000 contracts, a 12 per cent increase against August of the same year.
The SO ensures timely funding to cover the economically justified expenditures of GDEs, including independent ones, in the areas falling under the responsibility of Gazprom Gazifikatsiya.
Also reviewed was the information about gas supplies to the Khabarovsk Territory from 2025. Currently, Gazprom continues to install additional gas compressor equipment at the Sakhalin – Khabarovsk – Vladivostok gas trunkline's main compressor station in order to increase the trunkline's capacity. Design activities are in progress for the infrastructure required to switch consumers from the Okha – Komsomolsk-on-Amur gas pipeline (not owned by Gazprom) to said trunkline. Work is underway to obtain a more precise forecast of gas demand among regional consumers.
The Board of Directors also took note of the information on the implementation of a socially-oriented and cost-effective system of gas infrastructure expansion and gas supplies to serve the needs of the population. Gazprom is actively contributing to this work and preparing proposals for updating the legislation to reduce the timeframes and cost of gas infrastructure construction and streamline the procedure for the registration of gas grid expansion facilities.
The Management Committee was tasked with continuing the work on additional gas grid expansion in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, provision of gas supplies to the Khabarovsk Territory by 2025, and implementation of a socially-oriented and cost-effective system of gas infrastructure expansion and gas supplies to serve the needs of the population.
