On Thursday, Russian gas giant Gazprom announced the expansion of its approved investments budget for 2022.
The company will invest RUB1.76 trillion (USD23.4 billion) next year, up from the initial plans of RUB902 billion (USD12.02 billion). Capital expenditure (CAPEX) is set to be RUB1.4 trillion (USD18.6 billion).
For next year, borrowing outside the company was pegged at RUB272.79 billion (USD3.64 billion).
Previously in September, Gazprom revised up its investment plan for 2021 to RUB1.185 trillion (USD15.8 billion) while CAPEX was raised to more than RUB1 trillion (USD13.3 billion) from the plan of RUB864 billion (USD11.52 billion) approved in December 2020.
The company is developing new gas production deposits, including in the Arctic Yamal peninsula.
