AlwaysFree: Georgia Elba LNG Export Plant Units Restarted By Kinder Morgan

Author: SSESSMENTS

After a fire at Elba Island liquefied natural gas (LNG) export plant in Georgia, Kinder Morgan Inc has restarted two of the three units shut. Unit 3 on late Tuesday began the restart process. By the end of the week, Unit 1 is expected to begin the process.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.  For when Unit 2 will be returned to service, Kinder Morgan at this time does not have an estimated date. Elba Island liquefied natural gas (LNG) export plant has sent out three cargoes - one in December and two in January, since the plant entered service.

Elba is 51 percent owned by units of Kinder Morgan and 49 percent by EIG Global Energy Partners. The Elba plant is designed to liquefy natural gas about 0.350 billion cubic feet per day.
